BumpTop for PC

Thursday, February 10th, 2011

Is your desktop beginning to look a little cluttered? Stuff everywhere and little organisation – well try BumpTop. Turns the desktop into a 3D box so you can organise files, shortcuts and programmes onto different walls.

Being able to focus on a specific wall, make icons bigger and smaller depending on their importance, organise icons into piles which can then be easily expanded or collapsed – all means that a messy desktop (well mine really) can easily be organised with the minimum of fuss.

These chaps have been bought out by Google so there are no updates, only the free version which is available to download here

Why not give it a go and see what you think

We’ve been a bit quiet – but for good reasons

Wednesday, January 26th, 2011

Well we have on the blog writing side of things, but that is mainly down to the workload we are experiencing – a nice problem to have. So what have we been up to?

Well, we have been developing the new RabĀ® website which is due to launch in the near future. Developing a user friendly content management system along with a unique intuitive design to showcase the technical products within the RabĀ® range has been an involving project.

Working with Muse Developments, we have moved their existing website into our content management system VCMS and provided them with some key new functionality to help manage the website.

We are working on a website for a new company called Steep Edge, which is an e-commerce site for selling adventure films. Everything from Abseiling to Wingsuits will be available to rent or buy from the website which will be launching in early March.

We are also pleased to welcome our new developer who will be starting on 14th February to help move the Web Design and Development from Vertebrate Graphics to a new level in 2011 and beyond… more news on that soon.

We have partnered up with Vertical Response to provide an email marketing system to all our clients. This is being tested at the moment but will soon be available to all clients.

So as you can read – busy times and long may they continue !!!!

Movember is here

Monday, November 1st, 2010

Yes ladies and gents, Movember is upon us. No that is not a spelling mistake in one of the winter months, it’s time to grow some facial hair.

To raise awareness for prostate cancer, you may see a few facial hair sproutings being notched up including my good self. Whether it goes from the pencil thin douchebag tash to the full Merv Hughes only time will tell.

You can find out more information at http://uk.movember.com, so get involved and warm the upper lip with some winter insulation.

Pictures will be available soon as well as the possibility of time lapse fun.

Wanted – a home for an abandoned cat

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

I realise that this is a bit “left field” but one of my friends has recently taken in an abandoned cat. Despite being content in his bathroom, she does not get on with his existing cats and would ideally suit a cat free home. Jon has visited the local vets to get it checked for a microchip but to no avail. He has paid out for vet fees for a full health check which it has passed with flying colours.

All he would like is to see it go to good home, so if you think you could give it a second chance, click on the button below…… Thanks.

UPDATE – CAT HAS NOW BEEN SUCCESSFULLY RE-HOMED.

Busy times means lack of blogging

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

Apologies one and all for the lack of activity on the Vertebrate Graphics blog – busy times has meant that client work has taken priority. It’s a nice problem to have.

Our recent activity includes the launch of the Talking Balloons website. We were approached to take over the development of this site after the existing agency consistently missed deadlines and targets. With the website being almost 12 months late and patience wearing thin, we were approached to complete the website build. 3 months later the website is now live much to the excitement of the client.

We also spent last weekend at the Cliffhanger event exhibiting our books from Vertebrate Publishing and enjoying the sunshine. Highlights including having both Jerry Moffat and Ron Fawcett signing their books as well as the Bouldering World Cup running over the 2 days.

We also have a few exciting projects in the pipeline which we can’t talk about at the moment, but watch this space.
